Understanding StypeKit console ports and connections

Applies to: StypeKit

Goal:
Connect all hardware to the correct ports on the StypeKit console.

When you need this:

• No tracking data

• Motors not responding

• Sync or joystick issues

• Connecting StypeKit for the first time

Key ports:

• SENSORS: Pan and tilt encoders

• HEAD CABLE: Connects console to headbox

• JOYSTICK: Control handles

• VIRTUAL OUTPUT: Ethernet or serial tracking output

• USB: Firmware updates and data transfer

• SYNC: Blackburst or tri-level genlock

• LTC: Timecode input

• 24V POWER: Console power input

Common issues / fixes:

• Wrong head cable type → must be 24-pin, not 37-pin

• No motor movement → check headbox connection, also check that joystick is connected

• No sync → verify genlock source

Escalate to support if:

• Correct cabling still results in blinking red LEDs
