How to perform mapping in RedSpy
Section: Mapping
Applies to: RedSpy
Goal:
Create a complete and reliable tracking map.
When you need this:
First-time setup
After changing marker layout
Tracking quality degraded
Prerequisites:
Markers placed correctly
RedSpy camera connected and calibrated
Steps:
Start mapping from the center of the tracked area.
Keep the camera orientation consistent relative to the marker surface.
Move slowly at the beginning to allow stable detection.
Avoid occluding markers with hands, head, or equipment.
Expand the map gradually, keeping undefined markers limited in view.
When coverage is complete, select Stop Expanding.
Save the map.
Expected result:
Map transitions to stable tracking mode
No excessive undefined or rogue markers
Common issues / fixes:
Many undefined markers → slow down movement
Rogue detections → inspect map and delete incorrect markers
Flickering map → check network stability
Escalate to support if:
Map cannot be completed despite correct marker placement
