Tracking is unstable or drifting
Section: Troubleshooting
Applies to: RedSpy
Goal:
Restore stable tracking performance.
Possible causes:
Lens ranges not performed
Wrong position of graphics inside Render engine
Lens file, if using StypeHF protocol and lens file is loaded inside the RedSpy.
Issue with rotational offsets, manifested when camera is moved
If it happens in specific spot in studio it can be map related
Fixes to try:
Reset lens ranges
If tracking is drifting ask to isolate PAN/TILT and movement of the camera around the studio, share this video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Bm7NMF3cLwJI5XY0AtKxqsk13hMy74D1/view?usp=sharing
If tracking is drifting when they are PANing the camera it is most likely related to lens file.
If tracking is drifting when camera is moved but it is okay when camera is paned and tilted most likely reason is wrong rotational offsets
If it is happening only in specific spot in studio suggest to bring camera in that area and switch RedSpy marker view from "Map" to "Tracked". If there are some markers with tails, they can manually delete them and that should sort out the issue.
Escalate to support if:
Tracking instability persists after corrective steps
